“Let us bring our experiences and ideas together. We should support our children to get their full potential.” Minister of State , Gaspard TWAGIRAYEZU says in a two-day workshop of development partners in basic education.

From Thursday 18 November 2021, Minister of State in charge of Primary and Secondary Education, Gaspard TWAGIRAYEZU officiated the opening a two-day workshop on Innovation Potential and Success Factors for Foundation Literacy and Numeracy. The workshop was themed to “Stepping back  to accelerate forward.”

Speaking at the workshop, Minister of State, Gaspard TWAGIRAYEZU said:” Let us bring our experiences and ideas together. We should support our children to get their full potential. I hope that we will keep this spirit of working together to bring more initiatives towards supporting foundation learning for our children as this is where all begin, we need to make sure that our children get their first step in education right." Gaspard Twagirayezu noted.

Director General of Rwanda Basic Education Board, Dr. Nelson MBARUSHIMANA mentioned that the Government has put more efforts in increasing enrollment around Early Childhood Education (ECE) and recruiting qualified teachers from TTCs to ensure pre-primary education improves in terms of quality education.

During the closing session, Minister of State in charge of Primary and Secondary Education , Gaspard TWAGIRAYEZU appreciated the discussions which will lead to the fruitful results , “ We had very good discussions in the last two days on how we can best support our children in their early age of learning and I think this is a very good topic to have in education. Let's together put into action the best ideas,experiences & recommendations shared.”
